Rep. Briggs’ Food Drive at its midpoint; calls for more aid

KING OF PRUSSIA – On Tuesday State Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, said he is at the halfway point of his third annual Summer Food Drive.

Briggs said the food drive seeks to help stock the cupboards of several local pantries, which often see a decrease in supplies during the summer months.

“The people in this district continue to show their generosity and thoughtfulness in their donations,” Briggs said, noting that more goods are still needed.

“Members of our community, especially students who normally enjoy subsidized school-lunch programs during the school year, rely upon these pantries and to get the nutrition they need,” Briggs said. “I would like to thank those who have donated so far, but also ask that contributions continue through the home stretch.”

The food drive began on July 5 and will run through the end of August.
