Police arrest Bryn Mawr woman for DUI on bike

Police in Radnor filed charges Monday against a Bryn Mawr woman with driving under the influence while riding a bicycle.

The woman has been identified as Marie C. Hagan, 21, of Glenbrook Avenue.

According to police, an officer on patrol was following behind Hagan July 22 shortly after 3 a.m. while she was riding a bike along the 800 block of Glenbrook. While following behind the bike, police say Hagan swerved several times and nearly struck parked cars. She also had headphones in both ears and did not have lights or reflectors in the front or back of the bike, according to court records.

When the lights of the police car were turned on, Hagan nearly fell, police said.

Following the stop, police said Hagan showed signs of alcohol consumption. Hagan told police that she had been drinking at a friend’s house nearby.

She has been charged with DUI, careless driving, bicycle operator not obeying the rules of the road and related charges.

Radnor police also this week charged Daniel Glusman, 24, of West Chester with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, according to court records. Charges for both Hagan and Glusman were filed Monday, July 26 and are both waiting for preliminary hearings.
