This weekend, get in the holiday spirit with First Friday Main Line, watch the LMHS basketball teams, or enjoy a night of music.
Tonight, First Friday Main Line hosts a bundle of holiday activities in downtown Ardmore from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Santa will show up in Schauffele Plaza somewhere between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and the Ardmore Tree and dreidel will also be lit around that time. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Leslie Ehrin will be signing her book Just About a Year: All About Seasons at Ardmore Initiative, where you can also decorate an ornament from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Listen to strolling carolers from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., or check out Wayne Harvey & Friends at Past*Present*Future from 7 to 10 p.m. This month’s featured charity is Elder-Net, and First Friday invites you to bring non-perishable food items to drop off in locations around Ardmore. For more information, check out the First Friday website.
Or head to MilkBoy to listen to the musical stylings of Lelia Broussard and Bess Rogers. Tonight is the CD Release for Broussard’s latest album, Masquerade—an interesting mix of upbeat, catchy songs (like the title track and “Satellite”) and slower, more serious jams. Joining her is Bess Rogers, a fellow singer/songwriter whose melodic vocals are suited to her folk pop style. – 8 p.m., $10 advance, $12 at the door, $25 VIP
Show some school spirit by attending the LMHS Maroon Madness event tonight, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free, and features fan contests, giveaways, food and raffles. For more information, read Patch’s article on the event.
On Saturday, Ardmore Library makes math a little more fun by giving kids the chance to make and take home a math game from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Saturday night, MilkBoy hosts musicians Mandobot and Derek Chafin. Mandobot’s music features a mix of rock, electronica, and goth characteristics with a raw sound. Also performing is Derek Chafin, featuring dramatic and emotionally intense folk rock. – 8 p.m., $8 advance, $10 at the door.
